A beginners course in learning to sew with a focus on upcycling , altering and adapting clothes to fit or reinvent and begin to create your own style.

Week 1...Learn to sew on a sewing machine and by hand, learn seams and seam finishing. Start a collection of stitch samples. Explore possibilities of adaptions that can be made.
Week 2.. .Taking in, taking up, letting in, letting out, plus creative approaches to making things fit.
Week 3 ... Learn creative sewing techniques including appliqué, embroidery and needle felting for applying to clothes or accessories. Explore ideas to reinvent clothes.
Week 4 ...Zips, Insertion, replacement and creative application. Work on individual creative adaption projects.
Week 5...Create and Accessorise, Pockets and Bags, Buttons and Bows. Learn more essential sewing skills. Further work on individual projects
Week 6...Problem solving with a stitch, troubleshooting when things go wrong. Mending and Patching. Complete individual projects.
