Course content includes
Help with developing your own design skills and ideas; how to select fabrics and begin using commercial dress patterns. What is missing in your wardrobe? Bridge the gap from what you cant find in the shops.
Learn why you’ll need to take a comprehensive list of measurements and adjust patterns accordingly in order to make a perfectly fitting garment.
Learn to use basic tools and machinery.
Learn the essential rules for preparing fabrics for cutting and a range of hand and machine sewing techniques with tricks of the trade to help you make your first project to a high standard.
Week 1 - Design , selecting appropriate patterns
Week 2 - Measuring- we take a comprehensive range of body measurements to make sure your made clothes will fit .
Week 3 - Learn how to adapt your patterns to fit with your own measurements
Week 4 - Cutting the Cloth
Week 5 - Sewing machine instruction.
Weeks 6 - 10 - hands on demonstrations and tuition in a range of hand and machine sewing techniques and finishing to compete your chosen garment.
This course is suitable for both beginners and the more experienced sewists and for any gender identity.
Places on this course are £325 plus additional costs for patterns and materials depending on what you choose. There is a maximum of 6 places.
